Children’s Hearings Scotland’s Fife Area Support Team are recruiting a Depute Area Convener. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to securing the rights of children and young people and improving their outcomes and experiences.

In your role, you will support the local Area Convener in conjunction with the existing Depute Area Convener to take forward an ambitious Area Development plan and will manage a team of volunteers to recruit, select, quality assure and manage concerns or complaints in your area. You’ll be working with local partners, communicating with Panel Members and leading on and implementing national improvements at the local level. You will also make sure that the views of young people are heard and acted upon within your area.

Applicants must be able to lead and be part of a team; be a strong communicator; be flexible; have good planning skills and have experience of working with volunteers. A strong commitment to and an understanding of the ethos of the children’s hearings system is required.
