Maincrop potatoes filling up nicely and all potatoes had their first anti blight protective spray with humid weather forecast for the weekend. They will have this every fortnight until the end of the growing season. Commercial growers have to spray weekly to ensure blight is kept at bay.

Goosesberry young growth snipped off to allow bettter access for picking and to concentrate all the bush's energy into swelling the berries.













Carrots have been weeded and hoops put in to keep carrot fly mesh from restricting growth.

All tender vegetables now planted out. Courgette, french beans and celery - for the first time. All tubs and planters filled apart from the hanging baskets which are waiting for the plants which came online growing a bit.

Chrysanthemums for cutting in late summer planted out.
