Brassicas have had the cabbage root fly fleece removed and this has been replaced with a cabbage white butterfly/pigeon net. While the net was off rows were weeded and soil was pulled up round the stem to avoid wind rock.

Lawn has had a boost with a top dressing of Nitram - washed in as well.

Well into lifting potatoes with Duke of York having better numbers than Epicure - they didn't like the late frosts and this has produced a small number of big tubers per shaw.

Strawberries having been strawed for two weeks are now netted but not before a blackbird had speared the first half ripe one. Slug pellets had also been applied just before strawing. Now all that is needed is the sun.

Dead heading climbing roses to keep them producing flowers.

First tomatoes are showing some colour and they have a Tomorite addition to every second watering.

Stopped picking asparagus and started staking the spears or the wind will just bend them over.
