Freesias coming into bloom as are the sweetpeas, both providing fragrant bunches of cut flowers. Everything is growing at pace now especially the weeds.
Sweet corn coming away now but attacked by another leporid. Not content with jousting with rabbits a hare decided to leave its leveret inside the vegetable garden. I managed to shoo it out but the mother came back looking for the offspring and fancied the sweetcorn, nibbling the base of the stems; one killed and two mortally wounded. Bits of drainage pipe now protecting them...........after the horse had bolted.
Old tattie riddle providing a gate in the netting fence. The holes are 2" square and a baby rabbit being chased by a man with a stick scooted through without slowing down. Now covered with rabbit netting - not the only local gardener to witness this phenomenon.
